What is Active Protection and how do I enable/disable it?

 

If Active Protection is enabled, IDSeal Antivirus will run in the background unnoticed actively protecting your device. Upon detection of a threat IDSeal Antivirus will report, block or quarantine the threat.

Below you will see both enabled and disabled states. In order to turn this protection on or off toggle the switch.

How do I perform a scan?

    • Select “Antivirus Protection” from the sidebar
    • Choose which scan you wish to run:
      • Quick Scan will scan the most vulnerable areas of your device.
      • Deep Scan will scan your entire device for viruses
      • Custom scan will scan selected locations

 

How do I set up a scheduled scan?

      • Select “Antivirus Protection” from the sidebar
      • Next to “Quick Scan” or “Deep Scan” click on the “Calendar” icon (calendar with a clock on it)
      • On the next screen, click on “Add new”
      • In the dialogue box, specify the type of scan that you would like to schedule: Quick Scan, Deep Scan or Custom Scan
      • Specify when it will be started.
      • Click “OK”

 

How do I disable or delete a scheduled scan?

      • Select “Antivirus Protection” from the sidebar
      • Next to “Quick Scan” or “Deep Scan” click on the “Calendar” icon (calendar with a clock on it)
      • You’ll be shown a list of scans that you have scheduled
      • Check the box next to the scan you wish to disable or delete
      • To disable the scan, click “Enable/Disable”
      • To delete the scan, click “Delete”

 

How do I change where IDSeal Pro-Tec Scans?

      • Select “Antivirus Protection” from the sidebar
      • Next to “Quick Scan” or “Deep Scan” click on the “Calendar” icon (calendar with a clock on it)
      • You’ll be shown a list of scans that you have scheduled
      • Tap on the scan you wish to edit, and the whole row should become highlighted
      • Click “Edit”
      • Choose the folders you want to allow IDSeal Pro-Tec to scan then click “Open”
      • A dialogue box will show the folder that was selected.
      • To confirm, click “Apply”. To remove or add a folder, click on “Remove folder” or “Add folder”

 

How can I view details of previous scans?

      • This feature is not available on IDSeal Pro-Tec for macOS

 

How do I update the security definitions?

      • Click on the “Information” icon (“I” inside a box) at the top right of your screen
      • Click on “Update”
      • Click “Check for newer definitions”

 

What is Active Protection, and how do I enable/disable it?

      • If Active Protection is enabled, IDSeal Antivirus will run in the background unnoticed actively protecting your device. Upon detection of a threat IDSeal Antivirus will report, block or quarantine the threat.
      • Locate “Antivirus Protection” from the sidebar
      • To enable it, toggle the Real-Time Protection Status button on (to the right)
      • To disable it, toggle the Real-Time Protection Status button off (to the left)

 

How do I view and manage quarantined items?

      • Select “Antivirus Protection” from the sidebar
      • Click on “Quarantine”
      • Here you can Restore or Delete items from Quarantine
