The Login Credentials tab shows usernames and passwords that finds stored in your web browsers.

How to scan your login credentials

  • To run a scan click the Scan button.
  • After the scan has finished you will see a list of the usernames and passwords that IDSeal Pro-Tec has found.
  • The passwords will be masked for privacy reasons, but can be revealed by checking the ‘Show Passwords’ box.

How to delete a username and password record

Delete: The delete option will remove selected (checked) usernames and passwords from your browser’s memory. If you choose this option,
the web browser will not automatically enter your username and password into the login fields on websites.

Encrypting a login credential into the Vault

Select one or more credentials and click ‘Move to Vault’. When you move one/multiple login credentials to the Vault, IDSeal Pro-Tec will remove the usernames and passwords from your browser’s memory and store them in an encrypted vault. If you choose this option, the web browser will not automatically enter your username and password into the login fields on websites.

You will need to open the Vault to copy your password to the clipboard so you can paste it into a web page’s password field. Entering the Vault requires your Windows username and password combination as a safety measure once per session.

Do I have to delete or to move to the Vault?

No. you do not have to take any action. You can leave your credentials in the browser’s memory. While less secured, this provides the convenience of the browser auto-populating your credentials into the web page’s login fields.

How to get access to the Vault

Click on the View Vault button

Enter your windows Username and Password and click OK

How to lock the Vault

To lock the Vault you need to click on the lock icon and the vault will be password protected again

How to add a new entry to the Login Credential Vault

  • 1. Click the “+” Icon
  • 2. New windows will open
  • 3. Choose a category
  • 4. Add a title (not a must)
  • 5. Add url
  • 6. Add user name
  • 7. Add password
  • 8. Confirm the password
  • 9. Click ‘OK’

How to copy a password from the vault

  • Select an entry by checking the box on the left.
  • Click the copy icon
  • Paste you password Ctrl + V into the desire location.

How to import passwords to the vault

You can use the search box to find your entry by entering the user name or website relevant to that login credential.

Your usernames and passwords can be categorized in a list of personalized or general categories.

To add a new category:

  • Click the ‘+ ‘ icon
  • Enter a category name
  • Click ok

What is the Login Credentials Vault?

The Login Credentials Vault allows you to store your login credentials through encryption for safekeeping.

 

How do I perform a scan of my login credentials?

    • Check the box beside the username and password record you wish to delete
    • Select the “Delete” button at the bottom right of your window to delete the record

    • No, you do not have to take any action. You can leave your credentials in the browsers memory. While less secured, this provides the convenience of the browser auto-populating your credentials into the web page’s login fields.

 

How do I get access to the password vault?

    • Select “Login Credentials” from your sidebar
    • Click on “View Vault”
    • Next, you’ll be prompted to enter in your macOS device user’s password to gain access to your Login Credentials Vault. Enter in your password and click “OK”

 

How do I lock the password vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the button with the lock symbol listed to the right of “Vault”
    • Click on the lock button to lock your Login Credentials Vault

 

How do I add a new entry to the Login Credentials Vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the “Add Entry” button (i.e. button with the plus sign) listed to the right of “Vault”
    • Click on the Add Entry button
    • Choose your preferred category, then enter in the URL, User Name, and Password
    • Note: It is not necessary to choose a title, but it may help when searching for a particular login credential
    • Did you know? At the bottom of this dialogue window, you will see a “Quality” scale which alerts you to the strength of the password that you have.
    • Click “OK” to save your new entry to the Login Credential Vault

 

How do I delete a record from the Login Credentials Vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the record that you wish to delete
    • Check the box beside the record
    • Click on the “Delete Record” button (i.e. button with the minus sign)
    • A dialogue window will pop-up to verify that you want to delete the entry that you selected
    • Click “Yes”

 

How do I edit a Login Credential in the Login Credentials Vault?

    • While in your Login Credential Vault, locate the record that you wish to edit.
    • Click on the “Edit Record” button (i.e. button with the pencil symbol)
    • Enter in the updated username or password
    • Click “OK”

 

How do I copy a password from the Login Credentials Vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the record that you wish to copy the password for
    • Check the box next to the record
    • Click on the “Copy Password” button (i.e. button with two dog-eared papers) to copy the password to your clipboard

 

How do I import passwords to the vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the Import Data button (i.e. button with box and arrow pointing SW)
    • Choose your passwords file formatted as a CSV (comma separated values) to import into the database

 

How do I export my credentials from the Login Credentials Vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, check the boxes next to the records that you wish to export. Note: tapping the box at the very top will select all the entries in that category
    • Locate the Export Data button (i.e. button with box and arrow pointing NE) and click on it
    • Use the pre-determined file name or type in a new file name to “Save As”. You may also choose where you would like to export your credentials to.
    • Click “Save” to export your credentials from your Login Credentials Vault

 

How do I find a specific entry in the vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the “Search…” box at the top right of your window
    • Enter in an associated keyword to find the credential that you are looking for

 

How do I add a category in the Login Credentials Vault?

    • While in your Login Credentials Vault, locate the plus sign to the left of “Categories”
    • Click on the “+” symbol
    • Next, you’ll be prompted to enter in the “Name” of your new category and be given the option to enter notes shown in the category tooltip
    • Click “OK” to add the new category
